While being one of the most effective soil amendments available, surface applied compost has some limitations. The valuable complex carbon needs to be washed out of the compost and into the soil through rainfall or irrigation. This can take a long time and leave carbon behind. We have addressed this issue by doing the liquid carbon extraction process under controlled conditions. This extracts 100% of the soluble carbon and enables it to be supplied in liquid form. When sprayed through a boom spray, a single rainfall event can wash all of the carbon into the soil. This allows 15 litres of Liquid Humus per hectare to give a similar response to 2 tonnes per hectare of Humic Compost.
Liquid Humus is also suitable for application through fertigation in drip or spray irrigation. It is screened to 130 microns and has been tested in multiple system types with no handling issues. Liquid Humus is ideal for application at the same time as fertiliser applications. It will help turn conventional fertilisers into a more slow release form, and reduce the total amount required. This can save you money and help protect against rises in fertiliser price. It can also prevent losses of soil carbon that can come from fertiliser use.
